Few items of storage have seen more of a resurgence in popularity in recent years than display cases, vitrines and dressers. Perhaps it’s a natural progression from the design world’s recent obsession with open shelving, which looks beautiful but, when storing tableware and glasses, can lead to a build-up of dust. In the dining room or kitchen, a dresser will ensure all eyes are on your prized crockery, but will also provide protection.

Lovers of a bespoke option will appreciate the beauty of the custom-made design by Furora Studio’s founders Diana Żurek and Gutek Girek (above). A candy-hued dresser, it was created for the duo’s recently completed apartment in Kraków, and integrates the wave motif seen throughout the rest of the home into its joinery details. It can also be lit from inside, for even more of a spotlight on those favoured pieces.
